Pay attention to your body - Script

“Let’s practice paying attention to your body"

You can have the students sit or stand at this point.

“Let’s rub our hands together real fast…” Keep going until you can feel your own hands start to get warmer, and if the kids are paying attention well, you can let this go longer.

“Now stop, bring your hands down and be very still. Close your eyes and pay attention to your hands. Are they tingling? Are they warm? Do they feel heavy or light?”

“Now let’s rub our hands together again, faster and faster…” Keep going for a while.

“Now stop and quickly bring your hands to your face. Feel the warmth of your hands. Breathe in, Breathe out.” Pause

“Bring your hands away. Now we are going to listen to sounds inside our body. Let’s count how many sounds we can hear inside our body. Take your index fingers and gently push on the ears to block them. Ready go…”

Wait for a while here. You may need to wave your hands a little when finishing to catch their attention.

If you have time, let them share what they felt.
